Eight other live-location ski apps exist. Every single one closed the graph because of off-mountain safety concerns. HotLaps shares your location only while you’re on the mountain. When the ski day ends and you head home, location sharing stops.
Strangers seeing each other on the hill is the same trust model as strangers seeing each other on a chairlift in real life — which is to say, fine.
